Bio

George Street and the Drive is band that performs music that makes people dance, have fun and be in better place. George is a great singer-songwriter with compelling vocal and guitar playing skills. George Street and the Drive’s music circles through many musical styles in both covers and songs George has written.

He grew up in New York City playing in bands where so much great music develeped. This is where he first developed his performance and songwriting skills. He has described by a music critic there as the ‘best psychedelic guitar player in NYC’. Most people say George’s songs seem very familiar but also very much to be his own vibe. Living now on the Front Range of the Boulder-Denver area of Colorado, George has continued to polish his songwriting skills. The screenwriter of the movie and multi episode TV series, to have been named ‘Waiting For Elvis’, had asked to use two of his songs in the production, but the project got derailed by the other Elvis movie ‘Elvis’. He's working hard all the time to be a better and better performer as well as in the studio, has really helped George develop not only great music production skills but a more critical ability to play live shows with greater sound quality, giving an audience a high quality sonic experience. He worked in the studio with Steve Rippe, a great Denver musician in the production of the songs you can hear on this website. In another testimony to his guitar playing skills, he was asked to sit in with Steve Crenshaw, a monster guitar player and singer here on the Colorado Front Range music scene. He has also received musical guidance by the great Johnny O, a master blues artist also here in Colorado. George has been strongly influenced more recently by masters such Robben Ford, Joe Bonamassa, Matt Schofield and Josh Smith and strongly influenced in his earlier playing, as many have, by BB King, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton and Albert King.

George Street and the Drive is looking to always continue to grow it’s musical abilities to connect with audiences here on the Front Range of Colorado and to be able to reach more listeners with the George Street sound and song experience. The music is intended to help us all be more energized, thoughtful, so that we can all live from a better frame of mind.
